When it arrives and deadlineArrives in January. The filing period runs from February 16 to March 15.

What it is

A reminder, for people who filed last year, that the filing period is about to start. It can come as a postcard or as a message in e-Tax.

What to do

If you are still a freelancer or have income to declare, prepare your documents. If you became an employee with one job, you may not need to file.

If you ignore it

The notice itself does not cause a penalty. Not filing when you must causes a penalty and interest.
