国民年金保険料 納付書 — National Pension payment slips

Who sends it日本年金機構 (Japan Pension Service)
When it arrives and deadlineArrives in April, or soon after you leave your company. Each month is due at the end of the following month.

What it is

Slips to pay the 国民年金 from April to March, with a fixed amount per month. It goes to people aged 20 to 59 who are not in the company pension.

What to do

Pay, or ask for the exemption (免除) if your income is low or you lost your job. The request is free and covers up to 2 years back.

If you ignore it

You get collection letters, then a 督促状 and seizure. A month with no payment and no exemption does not count toward your pension or disability pension, and it counts against you in a permanent residence application.

Ask for a National Pension exemption (国民年金 免除)

Not one of these, or want to be sure?
