課税証明書 meaning: income and tax certificate

What it is

A city hall certificate with your income for the previous year and your residence tax.

When you see it

It is asked for at visa renewal, for daycare and for public housing.

What to do

Get it at the city hall where you lived on January 1, or at a convenience store with your マイナンバーカード.
